When to contact a Mental Health First Aider
Our Mental Health First Aiders are available to provide a confidential, non-judgemental listening ear and help signpost you to appropriate support when needed.
You may wish to speak to a Mental Health First Aider if you are:
- Feeling stressed, overwhelmed or struggling to cope.
- Experiencing anxiety, low mood or emotional distress.
- Finding work or personal challenges are affecting your wellbeing.
- Returning to work after a period of illness or absence.
- Supporting a family member, friend or colleague with mental health difficulties.
- Looking for guidance on wellbeing resources and support services.
- Unsure where to turn and would like someone to talk to.
What Mental Health First Aiders can do
- Listen without judgement.
- Provide emotional support.
- Help you explore available options.
- Signpost you to appropriate professional services and resources.
- Support conversations around wellbeing in the workplace.
What Mental Health First Aiders cannot do
Mental Health First Aiders are not counsellors, therapists or medical professionals and cannot provide ongoing treatment, diagnosis or crisis intervention.
